ABOUT JACQUELINE

Jacqueline Monteverde

Jacqueline Monteverde was born and raised in Hermosillo, Sonora, and studied design before finding her way to jewelry.

After graduating, caught between too many ideas and none that felt right, she left for San Miguel de Allende for what was meant to be a short course in painting and sculpture. She stayed three and a half months.

There, she met the jeweler she calls her life's teacher — the person who taught her to channel emotion into metal, letting each piece carry whatever she was feeling as she made it.

She went on to complete a Master's in Contemporary Jewelry in Mexico City, where her technical grounding let her push further into storytelling — pieces built not just to be worn, but to hold a memory.

"Jewelry has been what saved my life — what keeps me awake every day, full of energy and new projects."

PHILOSOPHY — CÓDIGO 23

The Meaning Behind the Name

Código

Many of Jacqueline's pieces are made once and never repeated — each with its own code, the way a barcode identifies a single product. Código stands for that authenticity: no two pieces alike.

23

In 2023, at 23, Jacqueline's life changed course in San Miguel de Allende. The number recurs throughout the human body — in bones, in DNA — a coincidence she's come to see as both deeply personal and universal.

Together

Código Veintitrés — a practice built on authenticity, transformation, and pieces made to mean something.

HANDS BEHIND THE PIECES

Made in her studio, in Mexico City

Every piece begins and ends in Jacqueline's studio. Some are made entirely by hand; others involve outside collaborators for steps like 3D printing. The engraving, filing, and polishing are always hers.

Her studio is largely run by women — a choice she's proud of, in a craft still often defined by men.

For Jacqueline, making jewelry is also a way of translating feeling into form.

"Creating in Mexico is something I carry with pride. I hope my work contributes to making a new generation of Mexican women designers visible to the world."

Structured around the four elements — Tierra, Aire, Agua, Fuego — not just as physical forces, but emotional ones: water we carry in our bodies, air as movement, fire as feeling, earth as what keeps us grounded.
